We are a community of diverse creators and leaders united in our mission to forge connections that inspire action toward a more equitable Oregon, and society as a whole.
We bring leaders, creators, and changemakers together across cultural divides to support, promote and inspire action toward significant equity advances in the region. From support programs, sponsorships, and mentorships to the annual gala honoring Oregon’s BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ food and wine industry — community is at the heart of everything we do.
We envision an ever-expanding community with equity at its core, where every unique perspective, experience, and voice belongs and has the opportunity to thrive.
In 2019, Kali Thorne Ladd (Children’s Institute) and Joth Ricci (Dutch Bros) created TASTE For Equity as a volunteer-produced event to celebrate progress and redouble efforts on racial equity and justice in our community. Since then, the work and the impact of the organization has expanded thanks to the growing number and deep commitment of volunteers and sponsors.
We continue to operate as a volunteer-powered organization and we are always looking to add talented and passionate volunteers to the team.
Ubuntu is the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity. We carry this belief with us into every new challenge we face, connection we forge, and progress we make toward equity.
Let’s come together, grow together, and change the world together, one gathering in the spirit of ubuntu at a time.
